During that time, I was also the Managing Editor of the FCA News, Canada's national journal of astrology from 1982 to 1984.  For almost 7 years I also edited, contributed articles to, and published RAMC, a quarterly magazine for astrologers interested in computer programming.

At the FCA conference in 1985, I was elected the national President of the FCA and served in that position for two years.  Our proudest accomplishment during that time was hosting Canada's first bilingual astrology conference in Montreal Quebec.

In 1985, at our conference that year, I was awarded the FCA's Uranus Award for, "Progressive, original and resourceful inventiveness, expanding astrological parameters".  In 1987, I was awarded the FCA's Mars Award for, "A dynamic and pioneering spirit contributing to the progress and growth of astrology".

In 1987, to honour the contribution I had been making to astrology, the Astrological Association of Great Britain made me a Life Member of their association.  Only 13 astrologers around the world have received this honour.

In the 1980's I became seriously interested in using astrology to do career counselling.  I finished my first Career Report software program in 1986, then known as "The Career Report".  During the 1980s and 1990s I was invited many times to lecture as a career counsellor at NATCON in Ottawa, Ontario.  NATCON was the National Consultation on Vocational Counselling, Canada's national conference for career counsellors.

In 1995 I was certified to use the Strong Interest Inventory, a career counselling instrument used by many career counsellors around the world.  The "Strong" was developed at Stanford University in the 1930's and it has been revised many times since then.

Since 2005 I have been teaching various levels of astrology classes in Calgary.

In 2007 I helped to create the Southern Alberta Astrological Society (S.A.A.S.) with two other volunteers, and I am now the main organizer of our new association (www.saasociety.org).

I am continuing to work as a professional astrologer and career counsellor, with clients calling from all over North America and Europe.  I am now using the latest version of my Hewitt's Career Report to do career counselling, and you can order the printed Report and the Hewitt's Career Report software from this site.

Paul Hewitt, Astrologer and Career Counsellor

I am a professional astrologer with over 30 years of experience.

My working life started in the 1970's when I worked as an All-Risk insurance underwriter.  Eventually I ended up working in the Company's Head Office in Toronto, Canada responsible for insurance underwriting and staff training.  During this time I was studying astrology to determine what my next career should be.

I began to see clients in 1980 after almost a decade of studying, and also taught astrology classes in Toronto, Ontario, from 1980 until 1996.  During that time I was also invited to lecture on astrology topics in numerous cities in Canada and the United States, including speaking at conferences in New York, Winnipeg, Hartford Connecticut and Vancouver.  I was also invited to give the keynote address at conferences in Montreal (1987), Cleveland (1991) and in Toronto (1995).

For almost a decade, I helped to run FCA Toronto (a local affiliate of the Fraternity for Canadian Astrologers) as a volunteer in the 1980's.  Once a month we would host a Canadian or American speaker who would present a different astrology topic and keep us up to date with the latest ideas being discussed around the continent.  We hosted conferences in Toronto and had astrologers attending from all over Canada and the eastern United States.
