My name is Paul Hewitt.  As a professional astrologer with over twenty five years of experience, I offer my clients a full range of services including insight into their relationships, the direction of their career or business, and the trends they will experience in every part of their life.

To meet the needs of my career changing clients, I decided to develop my own career counselling instrument based upon an astrology chart.  It is called the Hewitt's Career Report, and while it is based upon astrology, there is no mention of signs or planets or anything astrological within its pages!

The Report is written in easy-to-understand terms and offers everyone new insight about which careers I think they would be most interested in.  The Report has been in development for over twenty years now, and every year I upgrade it to reflect my latest insights.  To date I have added over 1,000 improvements to the formulas that calculate the results, all to raise its accuracy level for my clients.

The great feedback I receive about the Hewitt's Career Report has led me to develop this web site where my clients can learn how to order Hewitt's Career Report for themselves and their families.

Trend Report for Winter 2011 - 2012

In the middle of November 2011, the planet Mars moved into the sign of Virgo.  One major positive theme with this is an improvement with our diet and opting for better nutrition, so do take advantage to improve your own!

Another major theme that comes with the sign of Virgo is JOBS and how many people are working, or are in need of a job.  In the year 1970, 95% of American men had jobs.  By the summer of 2011, only 63.5% of American men had jobs, and with reductions, in comparitive terms men’s incomes have also shrunk to their income levels of the 1950’s.  American men are right in the midst of an ongoing employment crisis.  (The quotes are from Business Week, August 29, 2011).

Usually, Mars moves through the 12 signs of the zodiac in 22 months at a fairly even pace, but not this winter, because on January 24th, Mars turns retrograde until April 14, 2012.  We all know that Mercury retrograde means a period of difficult communication.  Mars retrograde means a period of difficult initiatives when it becomes tougher to see projects and plans move easily forward.  Men can easily feel that they are stuck in a quagmire if they try to force things, so relax into the flow more instead of pushing too hard for a while.  Projects and careers will also feel as if they are stuck in mud if they are being forced, and so a great deal of patience, balance and relaxation will be called for until we get to the end of April.  With the flexibility of Virgo, people may be rethinking their career options, but it will be a difficult time for anyone to be shifting careers or jobs, if there isn’t a great work / lifestyle balance built into the new job.

The ongoing fight for the Republican nomination for President has turned into a protracted fight, lasting for much longer than observers had expected, and with Mars turning retrograde in January I am not surprised.

The planets Neptune (financial planning, banking, the oil and gas industry) and Pluto (who is in control?, debts, taxes, construction) are once again in the middle of a chaotic connection that will last all winter.  We have seen this every winter for the past few years, and the last time it was in effect was the middle of the 1930’s.  In many ways, we are repeating the themes from the 1930’s once again.  I do not expect the international banking and debt crisis to resolve itself any time soon.

One lesson North Americans learned from the 1930’s was that we needed a bank of last resort.  While the United States and Canada have their central banks to be just that, Europe does NOT have a bank of last resort, and this current decade is a terrible time for Europeans to be learning this lesson.  One major question being asked in financial circles is whether the euro, as a currency, will even survive this decade.

When it comes to the American economy, have we reached the dreaded tipping point?  The Governor of the Bank of Canada, Mark Carney, was quoted this week in the Canadian Financial Post saying, "It's going to take a number of years before they get back to the U.S. that we used to know - in fact, they are not, in our opinion, ultimately going to get back to the U.S. that we used to know."

  Seasonal Report
Report for Winter 2011 - 2012 continued...

Neptune, as seen from the Sun, (the Heliocentric position), moved into the sign of Pisces in November of 2011.  On February 4th, geocentric Neptune enters the sign of Pisces for the decade, as it did for 4 months briefly last summer.  This will change much, and it will bring new themes into sharp relief.  We can expect to see many stories in the media for the next decade and a half on fresh water, seas and oceans, the oil and gas industry, pipelines and pipeline accidents, cruise ships, tanker and container ships, and accidents with ships at sea, and the vanishing retirement options for millions of people all over the world.  I will write more about this change in the next few quarterly reports.

For the few days around February 5th, people in their relationships with mates and friends will need to be careful, as there is an inherent stress and a “walking away from my relationships” theme going on, which may not be the best conclusion to be coming to!

On February 7th, Saturn turns retrograde as it does every year at some time, and this year it is still in Libra, the sign of relationships, adding one more “being critical about relationships” theme for a week before and a week after February 7th.

From the beginning of March until the middle of July, geo or helio Saturn will be sextile (60 degrees) to the Galactic Center, and so political conservatives will feel they are in the ascendant as the Presidential campaign gets underway in the USA.  This powerful theme will have completely faded by election day.

On March 12th, Mercury turns retrograde until April 4th, so once again during this time period, please do pay more attention to conversations, as most everyone won’t be listening with their full attention.

With the correct strategic plan, money starts to flow through the middle of March as many practical solutions will be found for many former problems (a Grand Trine in Earth signs including Pluto).  Practical and realistic thinking plus brilliant perspectives will come to influence many perspectives in the middle of March.  But unfortunately, this isn’t the only powerful theme underway right now.

One of the dilemmas that the passage of Mars through Virgo creates is a “multiple choice option” with every decision, question and problem that comes up.  So it will be difficult this winter to focus on one project, one task, one career, one relationship, and only one brilliant answer etc.  During the middle of March, Mars is at 90 degrees to the Nodes in Sagittarius and Gemini, and in opposition to Athena and Chiron in Pisces - which - worst case scenario - could create TOO many choices and options that could fog up the brilliant answers just arrived at.  Do your best to separate the brilliant from the muddled answers!  Thankfully, for many people their common sense will give them the correct answers this winter.

So far here in Calgary this winter isn't as cold as it was last year, which has been a huge relief.  Whever you are living, do enjoy the season!
